Recently, information regarding DOXO and City and Village was posted on social media, which caused unnecessary concern for many Raintree Owners. Based on current owner communications with Raintree’s Office and the POA Treasurer, we do not see that the DOXO impact is widespread.
First, City and Village’s systems were not hacked or compromised. In fact, DOXO has no business relationship with Raintree or City and Village at all.
Per the FTC, DOXO uses misleading search ads to impersonate consumers billers and deceptive design practices to mislead consumers. Unfortunately, this practice is not uncommon and some owners may have inadvertently chosen the incorrect website.
Second, if you registered for your City and Village account online and paid from there you are not impacted (CityandVillage.com then Webaxis). The correct website for online payments was on your assessment invoice. If you paid by mailing a check, in person at City and Village, or through your bank’s bill payment you are not impacted.
The easiest way to determine if your assessments have been paid and the date paid is to sign into your City and Village online account at CityandVillage.com then Webaxis. Look at your account information. If you see your assessment payment posted by August 16th your payment posted as it should and you are eligible to vote (unless you have unpaid censures).
As communicated by the POA yesterday, if you received a delinquent notice from City and Village but believe you paid, please email your proof of payment through DOXO to treasurer@raintreepoa.net. While the DOXO issue is neither Raintree or City and Village’s issue, if you have proof of a timely payment to DOXO and you have actually paid your account balance to City and Village, you will be permitted to vote. However, please do not wait until you are ready to vote to determine if you were part of DOXO’s practices.
Please do not call the Raintree or City and Village offices nor email regarding your account balance. Please check it online.
